Version 2.0.10 Update: With the SketchUp 2024.0 update, this extension is no longer recommended for use. Instead, learn about new, native Trimble Connect functionality in SketchUp. If you do install this extension in newer versions of SketchUp, we recommend only using the Import command. Other extension commands may produce unreliable results in 2024.0 and newer versions.
Extension Functionality Overview
Once installed, the Trimble Connect Extension will be located under the File > Trimble Connect menu.
Open Model… - Open a SketchUp file stored in Trimble Connect.
Publish Model… - Upload the current SketchUp model to a Connect Project. This command acts as Publish As… for a file that does not already exist in Trimble Connect. For a model that is stored in Connect, this command saves the current model and sends up a new version to Trimble Connect.
Publish As… - Upload the current model to a specific folder or upload a model with a new name.
Import… - Import a supported file format from Trimble Connect into the current model.
Import Reference Model… - Imports a model file (skp, ifc, dwg, dxf) to use as a reference. The geometry in a reference model can be leveraged to coordinate modeling tasks between different stakeholders. A layer will be created for each reference model to help you manage visibility. Reference Models are positioned based on the origin of the file. They are also locked. To re-align a reference model, open the Collaboration Manager. Then click on the manage reference models button at the top, and then click on the details for a particular reference model.
Collaboration Manager… - Manage ToDo’s, Comments, and Model References.
Launch Trimble Connect… - Opens the full Trimble Connect for Web inside SketchUp. This allows you to manage projects, folders, permissions, version history, and much more. Learn more about Trimble Connect’s capabilities…
