Trimble Scan Essentials for SketchUp works with Sketchup’s native tools and provides the ability to import, view, and model from point cloud data. A variety of file types are supported such as RWP, LAS/LAZ, E57, TZF, and PLY. In addition to snapping and modeling from scan data, Trimble Scan Essentials for SketchUp now supports LayOut integration by exporting and documenting point cloud data in 2D to produce deliverables such as pdf.

Scan Essentials for SketchUp is a jointly led project by both the Building Construction Field Systems group and SketchUp and is designed to seamlessly integrate point cloud data into SketchUp. After the download is complete, please ensure that you are logged into your account inside of the Extension Warehouse while in the application in order for SketchUp to recognize your trial or paid license.
